Girl's Generation Competition at Maple Valley Junior High, was a packed day filled with fellowship and fun. Hosted by Bear Metal robotics, team 2046, Girls Gen. is about getting girls involved with robotics, STEM and FIRST in general. Our robot displayed rather well, but we could have used a little more practice on the course. This was true with most other teams, especially with gears and the human players. There was 11 students. 3 mentors, and 5 family members on the Neobot's crew at the competition this year, with everyone competing for the Neobot's being, surprisingly, a girl. To the extent of increasing interest and awareness of STEM amongst young girls the competition was definitely a success and we can't wait to take the gold next year!
